Research Examiner Training

Monday 27th February, PLG011, 9.30am – 1pm

This workshop provides an overview of the examination process for research degrees at the University of Worcester and identifies good practice for research degree examiners both in marking the thesis and at the viva. It will be useful for any staff who wish to act as a research degree examiner and for research degree supervisors who wish to gain greater knowledge of the examination process.

9.30-10.30           Coffee/Regulations and Procedures at Worcester
10:30-10:50         Examining a thesis
10:50-11:20         Coffee and Good Viva DVD
11.20 – 12:00      The Viva – asking the ‘right’ questions
12:00-13:00         Lunch/Discussion Groups
