The National Student Survey launched at the University of Worcester on 8 February, with a supporting ‘campus takeover’ promotional campaign starting on 9 February. We are aiming for an 80% response rate this year. Completion of the NSS confers many benefits to the University, including the use of NSS data in Key Information Set published by Unistats for prospective students and to inform our ongoing work on further enhancing the student experience. Further details on how we use the data can be found at http://www.worcester.ac.uk/discover/national-student-survey.html.
Information and supporting PowerPoint presentations and videos for promotion of the survey can be found at O:\All Staff Documents\NSS. Students will be receiving emails from their Personal Academic Tutor and from Ipsos Mori inviting them to compete the survey in the next 2 weeks. The survey can also be accessed directly at www.thestudentsurvey.com.
Students completing the survey online before 18 March 2016 will receive a £5 ‘Campus Credit’ which can be used as:
- Print and copy credit
- Payment for library fines
- Purchases in Made, Elgar, City and Pear Tree food outlets
- Purchases in the SU shop
All students who complete the survey online will have the option to enter a prize draw to win 1 of 3 iPad minis and the University will also make a £5 donation to the Access to Learning Fund for every survey completed online.
Weekly completion rates for the survey will be made available via the Media Lab webpage which will be available via http://www.worcester.ac.uk/discover/national-student-survey.html once the survey launches. Our response rates and overall satisfaction for the 2015 NSS were our highest ever, and we are aiming to build and improve on these impressive results for the 2016 survey.
Please encourage your students to complete the survey as their views and opinions will help to shape the future of our University and its student experience.
