The Association for Dementia Studies invites you to a 1 day masterclass on ‘Intimacy and Sexuality in the context of people living with dementia in a care setting’ on 10th November at City Campus.
- Topic – Sexuality and intimacy are basic human needs. They address different emotional and physical needs for people through their life span. When a person moves into residential care, and is living with dementia, their ability both to express these needs and find support for them can be a challenge. This is often an area of care which care staff feel uncomfortable to discuss. The aim of the day is to explore different aspects and topics around this field. The teaching will use a variety of methods. The approach is of interactive and inclusive learning.
- Target audience – Anybody who is in a role that provides support to people living with dementia is invited to join this workshop. It will be discussed in the context of care settings, but all participants are welcome.
- Fee – A limited number of free places have been allocated for University of Worcester Staff and students. For external delegates the fee is £150.
When the limited number of free places are taken you can still register but will be placed on a waiting list.
Please also pass onto any external contacts you think may be interested but please note that if they wish to attend they will need to pay the £150 fee and register here.
