“They were all amazingly talented. All sorts of quirky little touches that added novelty to the show…We couldn’t get enough of it. If they had done two encores we would still have asked for more” Worcs Promoter
They’re old hats when it comes to rural touring with us and one of the best gypsy music bands out there. This talented four-piece has wowed audiences across Worcestershire in 2012 and now their Eastern European charm is available to all our promoters. The Budapest Café Orchestra (BCO) play an impassioned yet tender mixture of blistering czardas (traditional Hungarian music – think Cossack), Russian and Ukranian folk songs, grief-stricken ballads and rollicking dances from Romania and Bulgaria. The band will make sure everyone finds their inner gypsy with opportunities to join in with songs and there are plenty of foot-stomping numbers to get people up and dancing too. They’ll also throw in a few tunes which your audience is sure to recognise so don’t be surprised to hear themes from popular film and television and the odd sea-shanty too. The NBCO is a bespoke village hall band that specialises in rural touring and boasts some of the country’s most revered international stars including Chris Garrick, one of Europe’s most celebrated jazz violinists and a regular performer with Dame Cleo Laine and John Dankworth. The raw emotion and finesse with which he plays will keep audiences hanging on every note and his speciality ‘hair tricks’ will keep everyone intrigued. And accordion player, Eddie Hession, has accompanied Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras, and was Virtuoso Accordion Champion of Great Britain. So get the goulash going, the brandy flowing, and the village will waltz the night away with this band!
