ANIMAL PRINTING WORKSHOP
Saturday 8 April
Inspired by screenprints and rubber stamp illustrations included in Hatched! The Hive’s current exhibition of picturebook illustration, this workshop offers children and their carers a chance to try printmaking: participants will make their own animal prints using vegetables and other objects, and collaborate on a giant print which will become part of the exhibition. The workshop will be led by two of the illustrators featured in Hatched! Becky Palmer and Daisy Hirst both also teach illustration at the University of Worcester and have led many workshops for children and families. Becky is an author-illustrator of picturebooks and comics whose illustrations for Dorothy Clark’s Ellie and Lump’s Very Busy Day (Walker Books) and Jamie Rhodes’ A Castle in England (Nobrow) feature in Hatched! Daisy Hirst has written and illustrated three picturebooks for Walker Books, the latest of which, Hilda and the Runaway Baby, also features in the exhibition.
Suitable for children aged 4 – 9
Workshop times: 10 – 11am and 11am – 12pm
The workshop is free, but booking is recommended as places limited. To book a place, visit:
