IHCA seminar: ‘For Brothers Everywhere: Exploring Sibling Relationships on Screen’

Katie Barnett (Lecturer in Film Studies, University of Worcester) is giving the first IHCA staff research seminar of this semester on Weds 5 April at 5:15pm in Room CC009 (Hereford Room).

‘For Brothers Everywhere: Exploring Sibling Relationships on Screen’.

This paper explores representations of brothers and sisters in contemporary film, suggesting that it is a relationship that has often been overlooked despite its significance, particularly to adolescent male characters. It will focus particularly on the 2016 film Sing Street and how the relationship between the two brothers is a source of redemption and eventually escape for the younger sibling.

Everyone welcome.
