We aim to support all our students to realise their potential, and for this reason participate in the UK Engagement Survey (UKES) which will open on 20 April 2017. UKES is different from other surveys we run in that it ask questions about students’ learning and skills development, and the kinds of experiences and challenges their course provides. It gives students an opportunity to reflect on how they study and what might help their studies in future, and tells us how successful we are in engaging them in learning activities.
The survey only takes 10 minutes to complete, and is an ideal opportunity for staff to find out how students spend their time on their studies, and how well they are engaging with their course. UKES is carried out by Universities across the UK, and benchmarked results are made available at subject level; having used questions from this survey in internal surveys in the past, the University has always performed well against the national picture.
Students will be receiving an email asking them to complete the survey on 20 April – please can staff encourage them to do so, perhaps by allowing 10 minutes in class for completion?
