Eight weeks of intensive CELTA (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) training drew to a close on July 21st. The Language Centre is proud to have helped 17 trainee language teachers successfully pass the course and take their first steps towards a teaching career. The centre maintained its 100% good pass rate and saw 20% of candidates gaining a grade B Cambridge teaching certificate.
The Language Centre is especially proud that 5 of the 17 candidates have gone straight into employment as a result of the course. Working closely with local schools and other language education providers, both in the UK and internationally, some candidates were able to find teaching work even before the course had ended.
We would like to thank the teacher trainers on the CELTA for their diligence and professionalism on the course, they were an inspiration and model for all the trainee teachers.
The next Online CELTA course is now full and is scheduled to run from September 2nd to December 9th however, we are taking applications for the Online CELTA scheduled for January 2018.
