I am writing to update you on the various appointments made as part of the academic restructure. For completeness, I have included all of the appointments made.
Anne-Marie McTavish will be the new Head of the Business School. Anne-Marie is currently Head of Strategy, Management and Marketing at Birmingham City Business School, Birmingham City University. She has extensive experience of successful leadership across a range of business areas at BCU, Coventry University and Nottingham Trent University. Before entering academia, Anne-Marie worked for many years across the globe as an International Management Consultant at McKinsey and Company.
Anne-Marie will be starting her new role on 29th October. Until then, Warren Wright will continue to lead as Acting Head of the Business School.
Dr Tim Jones will be the Head of the new School of Psychology. Tim is currently the Head of Psychology at the University of Coventry, but many of you may remember him from his time at the University of Worcester when he lead the Department of Psychology. Tim left the University to work as Head of Research, Evaluation and Analysis in a charity working in the field of preventing domestic violence. Tim has extensive experience and success in teaching, research, recruitment, student support and student satisfaction. He is also a chartered Psychologist.
Tim will take up his new position on 1st November 2018. In the meantime, Robert Dudley, current Acting Head of School of Nursing and Midwifery, will continue to lead colleagues in this area.
Dr Des McDougall has been appointed Acting Head of the School of Science and the Environment until 31st December 2018. The interviews for a new permanent Head of School took place earlier this week, and I will update you once the appointment process has concluded.
Catriona Robinson has been appointed as College Director LTQE in Arts, Humanities and Education.
Kerry Whitehouse has been seconded for a year as College Director LTQE in Sport, Business and Psychology.
Jo Rouse has been appointed as College Director LTQE in Allied Health, Science and Nursing and Midwifery.
Professor Erica Bowen has been appointed as College Director RKE in Sport, Business and Psychology.
Professor Eleanor Bradley has been appointed as College Director RKE in Allied Health, Science and Nursing and Midwifery.
We have not yet concluded the appointment process for the College Director RKE in Arts, Humanities and Education, and I will update you as soon as I can.
