British Empire Medal for Tom Taylor

Tom Taylor received his British Empire Medal from the Vice Lord-Lieutenant for Worcestershire, Brigadier Roger Brunt CBE

Tom Taylor, the University’s Assistant Director of Estates, was finally able to collect his well-deserved British Empire Medal during a special ceremony at Worcester’s Guildhall.

Tom was awarded the BEM as part of the Queen’s Birthday Honours last year but due to Covid restrictions the investiture ceremony was delayed. Tom has now been presented with his award by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant for Worcestershire, Brigadier Roger Brunt CBE, in a ceremony at Worcester’s Guildhall, accompanied by his family.

“To finally receive the Medal in the Assembly Room at the Guildhall was a lovely setting and I felt very honoured,” he said. “It was a really memorable ceremony with both family and friends present and my thanks go to the Lieutenancy Office for making the day so special under such challenging circumstances.”.
