Welcome Festival arrangements

The University’s Pro Vice Chancellor (Students), Dr Tim Jones sent a message to all students assuring them that the Welcome Festival would be continuing but arrangements were in place to respect the national period of mourning.

Read the message below:

Dear student,

It has been lovely to see so many of you on campus already and I look forward to meeting you in person during the weeks and months ahead.

We are all deeply saddened by the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II, an extraordinary woman who inspired generations through her selfless service.

We are continuing with our Welcome Festival and all planned teaching during the national period of mourning. We believe it is important that all new and returning students have opportunities to settle into campus, to meet new people and to join clubs and societies. However, we have made a few changes to the Festival programme as a mark of respect.

Please do continue to visit the welcome webpages for all the latest information.

Where events have been postponed we will look to reschedule these over the coming weeks.

Worcester students epitomise responsibility and respectfulness and I thank you in advance for continuing to act responsibly during this period.

All good wishes,

Tim
