Lakeside Campus has celebrated its most successful year to date welcoming over 2,500 unique university students and nearly 8,000 unique community users in 2021/22.
This summer it provided nearly 1,100 spaces on its summer holiday clubs (both paid for and funded places), of which 63% (677) were in receipt of free school meals, classed as looked after children, those with EHCs or considered vulnerable or living in areas of high deprivation from across the region.
It has also hosted over 120 St John’s Ambulance Cadets on a weeklong residential programme, 140+ children from Stourport High School and VIth Form College on Year 6/7 transition days, Warwick School holiday camps, Worcestershire Virtual School, as well as university colleagues from Careers, Estates, Grounds and a group of new students with neurodiversity.

Here’s what some of the recent users had to say:
“My three children have attended lakeside and I would say it’s been life changing. My middle daughter under HAF attended with special needs, she has gained so much confidence.“
“My son attended under HAF his school thought it would really boost his self-esteem and confidence for his first year in secondary school and yes – it has!! He has had a summer full of friendship, achieving, reaching goals because he has put the effort in, learning new skills – it’s been amazing!”
“Three of my daughters attended many sessions over the summer holidays. They have not only grown in confidence but have learnt so much in regards to water safety and much more. My youngest daughter was really lacking in confidence when in the water. This summer she has finally gained the confidence which has shown on her weekly swimming lessons and she is so proud of herself. All the staff were friendly and helpful.”

Staff at Lakeside are very much looking forward to the new academic year and welcoming new and existing students and community groups.
