Third year BSc Paramedic Science students were shown how firefighters extract people from vehicles following a road traffic collision as part of a special training session.
The training was hosted by Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and involved a lecture from a Paramedic who is also a firefighter.
The students were they given the chance to familiarise themselves with vehicle technology and hazards before being allowed to enter and exit vehicles in all different positions.
Finally some students were put into a vehicle and ‘cut out’ by a fire crew.
The Students said they found it a valuable learning experience.
