Education Reform Act Exhibition at The Hive

The Social Psychology of Education Research Group have put on a small exhibition at The Hive to mark it being 30 years since the Education Reform Act was passed. This act completely changed the landscape of education, removing polytechnics from local authority control, bringing in a National Curriculum for the first time, giving parents more choice of school and creating new types of state school. Several roller banners in the education section on Level 3 share reflections on the impact of the Act and provide a timeline of education reforms since 1988. In the foyer, a selection of books chosen by the Social Psychology of Education Research Interest Group are on display, alongside some archival documents. There is also an opportunity to share your own reflections on education reform!
